Patricia McLaughlin Hessler    Memorial Scholarship Fund

Patricia Hessler dedicated her life to the care of others. She chaired the Ladies Guild of Fogarty Memorial Hospital and also served as a member of the Board of Trustees at Landmark Medical Center, Sojourner House and Rhode Island Country Club. Patricia was a champion of many causes.

An esteemed member of the Rhode Island Bar, Patricia devoted much of her career in senior roles within DCYF, including serving as Executive Legal Counsel and Chief of Staff. Patricia worked tirelessly representing the Department of Children, Youth and Families. She was incredibly proud of her work with the department, representing the defenseless, the vulnerable and the children of Rhode Island.

An immigrant to this country from Scotland, Patricia’s family settled in New York. Patricia will forever be remembered for her beauty, both inside and out, caring heart and unconditional love. She excelled in school eventually graduating from the University of Rhode Island with highest honors, the Kennedy School at Harvard University and Roger Williams Law School.
